Biden Got Caught Plagiarizing Trump’s Speech

Notice: This article may contain commentary that reflects the author’s opinion.

During Biden’s State of the Union address there were plenty of blunders that went viral. For instance, the part of Biden’s speech where he called Ukrainian people “Iranian” made several headlines and when Biden said the word “burn-pits” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi awkwardly stood up and rubbed her fist together like a cartoon villain of some sort.

However, what the media didn’t pick up is Biden’s conclusion of his speech was almost verbatim to Trump’s conclusion of his state of the Union address.

In 2018 Trump was quoted saying  “The state of our Union is strong because our people are strong.” but it appears Biden’s speechwriter copied Trump’s speech because Biden was quoted saying “The state of the Union is strong because you the American people are strong.”

Watch the moment it happened right here:

This wasn’t the first time Biden plagiarized according to the American Presidency Project he has done it a handful of times.

Joe Biden has plagiarized from speeches, essays, and policy positions throughout his entire life
As a student at Syracuse Law School in 1965, Biden plagiarized 5-pages from a law review journal “without quotation or attribution” During his failed 1988 presidential campaign, Biden plagiarized from speeches by British politician Neil Kinnock, Robert Kennedy, and President John F. Kennedy
Now, Joe Biden and his 2020 Presidential campaign are at it again – lifting ideas, slogans, and writings to pass off as their own

Last year, Biden’s campaign used “word-for-word” language from other groups as part of his climate and education policy papers The newly released recommendations from the “Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force” take whole sections straight from Bernie Sanders’ campaign platform.

One of the most notable slogans Biden has stolen was Bill Clinton’s build-back better slogan.

Clinton used the slogan after a large earthquake struck Haiti; in response to the tragedy, he declared that Haiti will be “built back better” with the assistance of the United States and the United Nations. Haiti, on the other hand, was never rebuilt to its former glory.

Instead, the situation in the country is worse now than it was in 2010. The United States is currently experiencing an influx of thousands of Haitians who have fled their country after last year’s earthquake struck the country just weeks after their president was assassinated.

The main source of contention surrounding Bill Clinton’s “build back better” campaign for Haiti was the allegation that billions of dollars in aid had been raised by the Clinton Foundation for the people of Haiti, but that the money had never reached the people who were in desperate need of assistance. Under Bill Clinton’s watch, a United Nations peacekeeper was also responsible for a Cholera outbreak that claimed the lives of almost 10,000 Haitians.
