Democrats are reeling over the possibility that the Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade. They are already demanding major changes to the court and an end to the filibuster.

All so they can protect a practice considered evil by millions of Americans.

What they seem to be overlooking is the fact that this news comes care of a gross violation of the Supreme Court’s practices. Someone leaked this draft, something that should be investigated and punished.

Democrats are silent, so Republicans are demanding action.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said on Tuesday that the leak of a Supreme Court draft ruling should be investigated.

Republican leaders are outraged that someone within the Supreme Court leaked a draft opinion. This violation of the court’s procedures has been blasted by Chief Justice Roberts, who accused the leaker of trying to undermine the court.

Republicans in the House, including Kevin McCarthy, Steve Scalise, and Elise Stefanik are demanding an investigation.

Joining them is Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who said the leaker should be “punished to the fullest extent possible.”

Generally speaking, leaking confidential material to the press is illegal. But it’s unclear which laws were broken by leaking this document.

Roberts called on the Marshal of the Court to investigate. Law enforcement, if involved, will probably investigate which laws were violated, if any.

But it’s clear that this move was ugly, partisan, and meant to destroy confidence in the court. Many have pointed out it was done to get leftists to pressure the court.

The leaker’s goal may have been to motivate people to blast and harass justice, so they’d be manipulated into upholding Roe v. Wade.
