Cheney Calls Trump “Unfit” And Responds To Attempts To Unseat Her In The Video

Donald Trump, the former president, and Liz Cheney are now again engaged in a nasty dispute. In an appearance with Fox News on Sunday, the Wyoming Republican lawmaker claimed that even the editorial boards of newspapers run by right-leaning billionaire Rupert Murdoch concur with her that Trump is “unfit” to serve in office once more.

The House Select Committee looking into the riot on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, has Cheney as its vice chair. Cheney has emerged as one of the most vocal critics of the former president following the assault on the federal legislative branch of the government last year. She is currently telling the media, “I’m not the only one who thinks Donald Trump is unsuited for president. It’s more businesses that Rupert Murdoch owns. It appears in the New York Post’s editorial from last Friday. The Wall Street Journal, who made the statement after our hearing on Thursday night, is the source. My priorities will thus continue to be doing my duty and ensuring that Americans are aware of the truth.

She was alluding to what the Washington Post’s editorial board stated in an opinion piece published on Friday under the heading, “Trump’s quiet on Jan. 6 is damning.”

His sole objective was to stop the peaceful transfer of power by whatever methods necessary, regardless of the repercussions. There is no other explanation for his refusal to put an end to the violence, just as there is no defense. The Justice Department will determine whether this constitutes a crime. But Trump has demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as this country’s president once more in terms of morality and character, the Post board said.

And The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board published this weekend an article titled: “The president who stood still on Jan. 6.”

They wrote: “Mr. Trump took an oath to defend the Constitution, and he had a duty as Commander in Chief to protect the Capitol from a mob attacking it in his name. He refused. He didn’t call the military to send help. He didn’t call [then-Vice President Mike Pence] to check on the safety of his loyal VP. Instead he fed the mob’s anger and let the riot play out,” the editorial board wrote.

The article condemned Trump’s actions, contending that “the facts it [the House select committee] is laying out in hearings are sobering.”

Trump has slammed Cheney harshly for her conduct, but other GOP leaders have also condemned her for having such strong feelings against the former president.
