Just Days After FBI Raids Trump Home – Rand Paul Demands The Immediate Repeal Of Espionage Act

Democrats are making many (and changing) claims as to why the FBI raided Trump’s home. Some even claimed that Trump was holding onto nuclear weapons documents.

A claim that wasn’t held up by the FBI warrants. But the DOJ did accuse Trump of violating the Espionage Act, even though he had the power to declassify every document.

And now, Sen. Paul is questioning this law’s purpose.

From Axios:

Less than a week after the FBI’s search of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) called for the repeal of the Espionage Act on Saturday, saying it was an “egregious affront to the 1st Amendment.” […]

“The espionage act was abused from the beginning to jail dissenters of WWI…”

“It is long past time to repeal this egregious affront to the 1st Amendment,” Paul added.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul is calling for the repeal of the Espionage Act. He accused the law of being an “affront” to the First Amendment.

The senator claims the law had always been abused, saying it was used to jail dissenters of WWI.

And it seems the DOJ has used this law (on questionable grounds) to go after a political rival.

Many Americans appear to suspect that the DOJ is doing this because Biden fears Trump’s return in 2024.

From the very beginning of Trump’s political career, the left has thrown numerous accusations at him.

It seems there’s no end to what they’ll say or do, in order to discredit the man. They even accused him of being a Russian puppet.

Even after the Mueller probe revealed no American helped Russia, Democrats still make that claim.

It doesn’t seem to matter if facts or logic apply. Democrats hate Trump, so they will do everything they can to take him down.

Sen. Paul seems to be thinking further into the future, though. If the left can abuse this law to persecute Trump, what’s stopping them from doing the same to anyone else?

This law appears to have been misused from the beginning. Perhaps enough lawmakers need to agree with Paul and repeal it.
