Watch: Viewers Spot Noticeable Change Occurring Behind Biden During His Prime Time Address
Eagle-eyed viewers pointed out what appeared to be CNN making a subtle shift in the blood-red lighting used by President Biden during his Thursday evening speech in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
Townhall reporter Mia Cathell retweeted a post from senior editor for Human Events Jack Posobiec in which he claimed that at one point in the speech CNN appeared to adjust the camera settings in their broadcast to make the blood-red lighting look more pink over the course of a few seconds.
“Watch the moment CNN slowly adjusts the camera settings when the blood-red lighting behind Dark Brandon is looking a little too authoritarian,” Cathell wrote. “By the end, the stripes on the American flag are pinkish-purple.”
A reply to the video took a before and after of the shift, accentuating the difference.
“I wasn’t sure, so I capped the screen at the beginning and at the end,” read the reply. “Here’s the comparison. Also, its worth noting that the foreground is the same (so someone didn’t mess with this in post) and the flag changes color (so its not the two lights changing color). They added blue.”
The video was filmed during the primetime speech in which Biden told listeners that “Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”
Over the course of the speech, the president mentioned “MAGA Republicans” 10 times, making further references to “MAGA forces” and “MAGA ideology.”
Cathell and Posobiec weren’t the only Republican voices to take issue with the imagery of the speech.
“I’m not saying ‘fascism’ officially had its coming out party in America tonight… I’m just saying Biden condemned his political opponents as a threat to America and democracy set to a blood red background with the military standing behind him,” political satirist Tim Young wrote.
“I can’t believe this is a real photograph. It depicts the president of our nation, as he took to the airwaves and spoke about his fellow citizens as if they were sewer rats,” Ohio Republican Senate candidate J.D. Vance tweeted.
“The red color in the background must be symbolizing the red wave that is coming in Nov following Biden’s demonic and divisive speech,” commentator Mercedes Schlapp reacted.
Popular podcast host Joe Rogan criticized the speech with seven simple words, “Imagine thinking this was a good idea.”
