Chicago Man Shot In The Head Across The Street From The Location Of A Hollywood TV Production

A Hollywood team was filming the TV show Chicago Fire across the street when a man was shot and killed. Shots were fired across from a West Side funeral home where Chicago Fire was filming for the second time in less than a week.

Contrary to last week’s filming, no cast members were present. However, this week, someone was shot. In line with CWB Chicago:

At 3:28 p.m. on Monday, a Chicago police officer tasked with securing the filming location outside A.A. Rayner and Son’s Funeral Home, 5911 West Madison, radioed, “Shots fired at the Chicago Fire production scene. Two bullet-riddled automobiles were discovered by police right across Madison Street from the funeral home.

“According to a source in the movie business, Chicago Fire was scheduled to resume filming at the funeral home on Monday, but the decision was made not to because of the event last week.

CWB Chicago stated that production members visited the funeral home on Monday to remove equipment that was used to make buildings appear to be on fire for the television program.

When Chicago Fire was filming at the same location last week and all the stars were on site, a shooter opened fire.

A man “shot at a group of people standing in the 5900 block of West Madison,” according to a CPD spokesperson, before escaping in a shadowy SUV.

A source in the movie business claimed, “It happened mid-take.” “No one was hurt on the set but a bullet did ricochet off some equipment.”

According to CWB:

“No injuries were reported, but a film industry source said the “full cast” was on-scene, and three cameras were rolling when the gunfire broke out around 1:55 p.m.

“The hit show’s crew was filming exterior shots at A.A. Rayner and Son’s Funeral Home, 5911 West Madison, when a man began shooting from the opposite corner, a source said.

“Law enforcement officers were already on the scene to provide security for the film set, and one of them called out shots fired on the local police radio channel.

“The gunman, a Black male with braids, walked out of an alley and “fired several shots at people” while standing on the northwest corner of Madison and Mason, according to the cop.
