Ted Cruz Shuts Down Whoopi Goldberg: “So it’s illegitimate when Republicans win but not Democrats?”

Texas Senator Ted Cruz went to New York to watch the Houston Astros beat the New York Yankees last night. The New York crowd couldn’t handle Ted and the Yankees’ loss and heckled Ted. Cruz handled it like a pro.

For an encore, Cruz went on The View Today and promptly shut down Whoopi Goldberg and her co-hosts over whether the Democrats ever questioned the results of an election.

Arguing with Whoopi, Cruz read off a list of recent Dems calling into question our elections. He said: “Hillary Clinton and Stacey Abrams sat here and said their elections were illegitimate and you guys were fine with it.

Cruz then said, “In 2002 Hillary said, ‘George W Bush was selected not elected.’ Joe Biden said ‘Al Gore won the election.’”

“So it’s illegitimate when Republicans win but not Democrats?

“People at home are saying ‘OK, is my life better than two years ago?’ and I think for the vast majority of Americans the answer is no,” Cruz added.

But the interview went off the rails after that as protesters started shouting over Cruz and the co-hosts causing the show to cut to a commercial while security removed the protesters.

Whoopi said:

“Excuse me, ladies. Let us do our job. We hear what you have to say, but you got to go. You got to go. You got to let us do our job.”

According to The Daily Mail, the hecklers were climate protesters:

Climate activists tried to drown out Republican Sen. Ted Cruz during a heated appearance on The View on Monday morning.

Whoopi Goldberg told the protesters to leave as they condemned the panel for their lack of coverage on on climate.

At one point the show had to cut to commercials when one member of the crowd appeared to yell ‘f*** you, Ted Cruz’.
