After Biden’s Gas Prices Hit A Record High – Democrats Admit They Are Bracing For A Growing Red Wave In The Midterms

Soon after Biden reacted to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, American gas prices skyrocketed. They were already getting far too high. But this move put further pain on Americans. That’s because companies embargoed Russian oil, limiting their supply. On top of that, Biden refuses to lift measures that are crippling American energy production. Bizarrely, Democrats can’t see that the vast majority of Americans want a return to Trump-era energy independence.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 70% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the U.S. government should encourage increased oil and gas production to reduce America’s dependence on foreign sources of oil and gas. Only 18% oppose a policy of encouraging U.S. energy independence, while 12% are not sure.

Those numbers are pretty clear-cut. Americans want more energy produced here, not less. If Democrats had a shred of intelligence, they would lobby Biden to reverse his policies. But they refuse. So, we shouldn’t be surprised this issue will come up big time in the midterms.

President Biden and congressional Democrats who have championed green energy policies while calling to shift away from domestic oil drilling are facing an uphill battle ahead of the midterm elections, as gas prices continue to climb from near-record highs following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Those “green energy policies” don’t provide actual energy. They just clamp down on drilling for oil and gas in the U.S. Yet meanwhile, Biden has wasted over a year begging other countries to drill more oil. His plan does not involve increasing American energy production, even in renewables. So his policies are reducing our access to reliable energy while driving up costs for the average American.

Meanwhile, a whopping 70% of Americans want the U.S. to increase our oil and gas production. Those are very strong numbers that a politician would be insane to ignore. Yet Democrats continue to claim that “greed” is the reason gas prices are so high—not the fact we have less energy to sell. Do these people understand basic economics? Or are they so blinded by environmentalists, they can’t admit the obvious?

Republicans believe, for good reason, this will come back to haunt Democrats. With the midterms this November, millions of Americans will have a say in this country’s direction. They will be able to vote for candidates that promise a return to American energy independence. If Republicans are smart, they will promise to lower gas prices—and show how they will do it. Biden keeps vowing to lower gas prices, but does nothing that actually works.

Republicans can easily retake Congress, on this issue alone. Most Americans need to drive to get to work. They don’t like seeing gas prices rise every time they pull up to the pump. Democrats are sleeping on this major issue. It’s a no-brainer.
