Hours After Cheney Launches Re-Election Campaign – Donald Trump Heads To Her Home State To Boost Opponent Hageman

While most Republicans supported former President Donald Trump during his term in the White House, a few constantly butted heads with POTUS.

This includes GOP Wisconsin Rep. Liz Cheney, who was one of a handful of Republicans to cast a vote for impeachment. Ever since, Cheney has been in Trump’s dog house, as he’s stated numerous times.

Now, He’s Headed To Wisconsin To Hold A Rally — And That Rally Might Help Oust Cheney From Her Seat.

The controversial representative, who many in the Party have called a “RINO” in the past, faces a stiff challenge from Trump supporter Harriet Hageman. The right-wing firebrand aims to take Cheney’s position this year.

And she has the backing of the former President, which has proven to be immensely helpful for other Republican candidates.

Though Trump’s picks lost a couple in recent weeks, Trump-backed candidates win their elections more often than not. The power and influence of the former Commander-in-Chief remains a valuable commodity.

Hageman will need it all if she hopes to unseat Cheney, though.

As she said in a recent tweet:

Trump and Hageman won’t be alone at the rally, either.

The event has attracted other heavy hitters in the Republican Party, including Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Jim Jordan (R-OH), and even House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

One of the reasons top Republican leaders want Cheney out is because she seems to have befriended House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a common GOP enemy.

Cheney has also come under fire for going against Trump’s MAGA and America First policies, and has even been booted out in Wyoming — That State’s GOP Voted To No Longer Recognize Her As A Republican.

On top of that, McCarthy endorsed Hageman as well, which doesn’t often happen with House minority leaders.

So far, early polling shows Hageman holding a lead over Cheney among Republican voters. In fact, in a January straw poll conducted by the Wyoming Republican State Central Committee, Hageman beat Cheney 59-6.

At this point, it seems the embattled Wisconsin GOP member will have a tough time hanging onto her seat.

If she does lose it, Hageman will undoubtedly credit Trump and other top Republicans with helping lead her to victory.
