New York Police Checkmates Al Sharpton, Releases Body Cam Footage Of Woman Hitting Cop Before Getting Decked

NYPD checkmated Al Sharpton after the MSNBC host threatened to sue them in civil court by releasing the body cam footage that showed a woman, who was interfering in the arrest of an armed murder suspect, hitting the cop before getting decked. (See Video Below)

The police department said cops from the 32nd Precinct were arresting someone who “was carrying in his waistband an illegal, loaded semiautomatic Polymer 80 handgun, known as a ghost gun.”

The NYPD continued: “During this encounter, a female acquaintance of this individual began to interfere with the arrest, including striking a detective. The detective fended off that interference and struck the woman with an open hand.

“This incident, including the conduct of the detective who used force, is under ongoing review by our Internal Affairs Bureau’s Force Group. All police body-worn camera footage, as well as other video surveillance from the area and witness statements, are being gathered and reviewed.”

The Detectives Endowment Association President Paul DiGiacomo said of Sharpton’s possible lawsuit:

“Criminals in NY have grown accustomed to there being no consequences for their dangerous, illegal actions — but when you assault a New York City Detective in order to interfere with an arrest of a man armed with a gun there are repercussions.

“As the DEA explores a possible civil suit on behalf of our dedicated member against the woman who attacked him, we urge politicians to open their eyes and see the public safety disaster they’ve created.

“As for Al Sharpton’s insane comments, he should be worried about the thousands of actual crime victims in this city and not the limelight and lining of his pockets.

“Sharpton said they’re going to be filing a civil suit. We’re going to be looking to file a civil suit as well, against the woman.

“This individual, James, was in possession of a loaded, illegal firearm, and her interference in that arrest could have cost the police officers as well as other innocent people their lives because they had to divert their attention away from the armed suspect to her.

“When you assault a New York City Detective in order to interfere with an arrest of a man armed with a gun there are repercussions,” he said.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said: ‘It’s a lot of madness going on.

“This is not just something that is a theatrical performance.

“This is real danger. This person was wanted for murder. This person had a loaded gun,” he said.
